Corebridge Real Estate Investors is seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant who will work under the supervision of a team primarily responsible for the accounting, tax, reporting, and treasury aspects within the Corebridge Financial Real Estate Investment Portfolio. The role requires motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑moving environment while interfacing at various levels within and outside the organization.
Responsibilities- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial reporting, including GAAP financial statements (historical cost and investment company accounting), cash flows, income tax reporting, and other project‑specific reporting.
- Enabling accounting responsibilities encompassing general ledger functions, investor, fund, and property‑level reporting, as well as cash management.
- Managing capital call and distribution processes.
- Coordinating and monitoring the external audit process.
- Proactively identifying and resolving accounting, reporting, and tax issues.
- Managing joint‑venture partner relationships, including review of monthly financial statements and participation in site visits to investment properties.
- Contributing to the development of accounting policies and procedures and addressing internal control issues.
- Assisting with the annual budget process, estimates, and variance reporting.
- Developing custom reports for Corebridge and various third parties under tight deadlines.
- At least two years of accounting experience.
- Experience with “Big4” (or close to Big4) and real‑estate or private‑equity accounting.
- CPA certification or a demonstrable interest in obtaining a CPA.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience interacting with joint‑venture partners, internal groups, third‑party property managers, fund administrators, asset/investment managers, and internal/external auditors.
- Proactive approach to issue identification and resolution, with responsiveness to management.
- Self‑directed, capable of working independently while identifying and resolving issues.
- Detail‑oriented and willing to take a hands‑on approach in all elements of the job.
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, financial statement presentation, budgeting, and transaction analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with many parties.
- Advanced computer skills, including Yardi, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel.
The anticipated salary range is $80,000 – $120,000 at the commencement of employment. Actual compensation will depend on geographic location, skills, experience, and other qualifications.
Work LocationThis position is based in the Jersey City, NJ office and follows a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to work both in the office and remotely.
