We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant to support the Head of School. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks, possess strong communication and technology skills, and demonstrate a deep commitment to the mission and values of the Academy.
The Assistant plays a central role in ensuring an orderly, responsive, and open school.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in matters pertaining to the Head of School
- Manages complex calendars and coordinates appointments, meetings, and correspondence
- Prepares and organizes materials for meetings including agendas, presentations, and reports
- Conducts research and compiles data to support the Head of School in decision-making and strategic planning
- Drafts and edits correspondence, communications, and other documents on behalf of the Head of School
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information and issues
- Collaborates effectively with other administrative staff to ensure seamless operations and communication within the school community
- Assists with Main Office coverage by answering phone and greeting visitors
- Helps to plan and manage logistics, record keeping, and preparations for school events and meetings (graduation, all staff meetings, in-service) and activities as needed
- Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Head of School
Qualifications/Professional Characteristics:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize urgency and anticipate needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
- Strength in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite, and learner of technology
- Strength in project management and planning for sustainable and repeatable events/actions
- Reliable, patient, professional, flexible, and adaptable work style
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning as part of a team.
- Associate degree in Business Administration or related field and related experience.
This is a 12-month, part-time position of 20-25 hours/week. Work days are Monday through Friday during normal school hours.Limited weekend and evening availability for key admission, board, and school events will be required.
