Job DescriptionThe Sales Director for Checkpoint’s Source Tagging business is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue and profit goals. The sales director will work to increase the RF labels and AM labels source tagging market share, assist and lead the sales team, and help retailers, suppliers, packagers, and CPGs become more profitable and efficient. This includes establishing and maintaining business relationships, maximizing sales potential with existing customers, and identifying prospects to add new business.
Reporting to the Vice President of North American Sales, you will own the accounts identified and be responsible for business case development, deliverables, training, communication, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Develop and lead the customer sales strategy, resource coordination, meeting or exceeding the revenue and profit expectations for designated for the source tagging business.
- Manage revenue and growth opportunities within the sales team.
- Build ongoing relationships with key CPGs, packagers, and suppliers: educate on how Checkpoint solutions increase their sales through improved on‑shelf availability and gain commitment to exclusively using Checkpoint products.
- Leverage strong customer relationships and regular communications in pursuing customer opportunities.
- Set the expectation of the “can do” Checkpoint culture of cooperation, coordination, and execution within the department.
- Drive collaboration and teamwork between the customer and Checkpoint personnel.
- Devise strategies to effectively close the sale of new products and determine a mutually beneficial and profitable pricing structure.
- Market watch and analysis: follow the market shrink trends and the competitors to proactively guide Checkpoint’s development team to deliver superior solutions.
- Conduct account reviews to keep management updated on key progress indicators.
- Interface and communication: continuous interface and communication with global source tagging partners and Checkpoint Asia source tagging team.
- Thought leadership: act as voice of customer internally participating in national meetings, quarterly conference calls, retail communications, and industry updates; participate and aid in the success of the North America Source Tagging conference and trade shows as needed.
- Offer the greater Checkpoint team new insights from your clients that may be transferable to other customers & industries.
- Liaise with Product Management, R&D, and Engineering to set and implement strategies for new products.
- Budget and forecast sales for the customer volume, revenue, and timing.
- Provide first‑class customer service and care.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Formal sales training, a plus
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in sales, with large/national account responsibility for at least 3 years.
- Experience working with CPGs, suppliers, label converters, and packagers.
- Experience in retail as part of loss prevention, store operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of merchandise loss, theft, and protection is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain and grow strong customer relationships.
- Skilled in conducting territory analysis and planning.
- Skilled in communicating effectively with all levels of management on complex business issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams to effectively deliver excellent service and increase sales.
- Ability to engage in market research and business planning.
- Exceptional presentation skills and ability to influence others by effectively using data.
- Experience identifying and acquiring new customers and acquiring new sales.
- Understanding of demand planning and supply chain and the importance of accurate forecasting.
- Experience partnering with Product Management to offer insights and intelligence defining and anticipating customer needs.
- Financial and business savvy, ability to communicate a business case.
- Project management skills.
