T&M Associates is seeking a Principal Construction Inspector based in any of our Middletown or Bloomfield office, supporting municipal and county infrastructure projects within a one-hour travel radius of the office. This senior‑level role serves as the Owner’s representative during the construction phase, ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Serve as the Owner’s on‑site representative during construction.
- Perform construction inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utility installations, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development projects.
- Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
- Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
- Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.
- BA/BS degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably on municipal or public works projects.
- PE license or NICET Levels I–III certifications preferred.
- Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
- Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $103,000, with the actual salary offered varying based on experience, education, skills, and geography.
