OVERVIEW

Under the direct Supervision of the Construction Management Division, to support the Port Authority Office of Safety Management, the selected candidate shall perform technical and administrative duties essential to ensure that contractors conduct activities in compliance with all Federal, Stateand Local fire and safety regulations and standards to eliminate hazardous practices and conditions, and also ensuring fire safety programs and standards are properly adhered to at the Port Authority and Leaseholder construction sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review contracts, drawings, and project-related documentation to ensure adherence.
• Ensure contractors are in compliance with OSHA,FDNY, NYCDOB, Local laws and all applicable regulations.
• Review contractor Health and Safety Plan submittals.
• Audit work operations and construction processes to ensure they conform to Health & Safety Programs, Job Hazard Analysis, Contract drawings, approved plans and all accepted safety procedures.
• Monitor work conditions, operations, practices,construction equipment and processes to evaluate effectiveness,adherence with accepted programs, required regulations, and alignment with all applicable safety policies.
• Provide Port Authority with daily reports toinclude photos and detailed account of safety observations,findings, safety deficiencies, and corrective measures.
• Conduct Accident, Incident and near miss investigations, root cause analysis and make recommendations to prevent recurrences.
• Provide Port Authority with Preliminary Information Reports on accident and incident investigation information.
• Interact & collaborate with Port Authority Resident Engineers, Agency Safety Representatives, Integrity Monitors, Stakeholders, insurance brokers, and affiliated representatives.

REQUIREMENTS

• The successful candidate will also be subject to acomprehensive background check, must pass a fingerprint based criminal history records check in order to obtain an airport
  
  Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) credential. The candidate must be able to maintain SIDA credentials throughout your employment in this position.
• The candidate will be expected to conduct comprehensive site audits throughout all construction projects throughout the agency.
• The position is a field position that requires working in all types of weather.
