Join our warm and welcoming team as a Children’s Dance Teacher and help our youngest dancers discover the joy of movement! This role is ideal for someone who is patient, caring, and truly loves working with little ones ages 3–5. You’ll create a fun, safe, and imaginative classroom environment where children can learn the basics of dance, build confidence, and develop important motor and social skills.

The Kennedy Dancers, a nonprofit professional dance company and school in Jersey City, is seeking an enthusiastic Children’s Dance Teacher to teach beginner-level classes for ages 3–5. We are looking for someone who is excellent with small children, dependable, energetic, and excited to introduce young dancers to ballet, creative movement, rhythm, and expression.

This position requires teachers who are local and available — no touring or extended travel.
Consistency is important for our little ones.

Teach beginner-level dance classes for ages 3–5, focusing on ballet foundations, rhythm, creative movement, and basic coordination.

Create age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans that encourage imagination and play.

Foster a warm learning environment where each child feels safe, supported, and excited to participate.

Promote listening skills, teamwork, and early classroom structure.

Gently guide students through motor-skill development such as balance, stretching, and introductory dance steps.

Communicate with staff and parents when needed regarding student progress or classroom behavior.

Support the mission of The Kennedy Dancers and contribute to an uplifting studio community.

Experience working with small children (ages 3–5) is required.

Prior dance teaching experience in beginner ballet or creative movement strongly preferred.

Must be patient, kind, and able to keep young children engaged and focused.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Must be reliable and available for the full dance season — no touring or extended absences.

A positive attitude and a genuine love for early childhood dance education.

Pay rate: $35–$40 per hour (based on experience).
