Community Programs Coordinator for Early Learning Academy and Early Morning Program
Reports to:
Senior Manager of Community Programs
Work Year:
Twelve-months, 35-hours per week excluding a one-hour daily lunch.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday. Specific work hours will be established to best support the respective needs of the position’s placement. Work hours are subject to change at management’s discretion to best support District needs.
The Community Programs Coordinator for Early Learning Academy and Early Morning Program will be responsible for the overall management and planning/implementation/evaluation of high‑quality programs at all applicable schools in the district.
Qualifications- Earned bachelor’s degree in education, recreation management, or related field. Comparable work experience may be considered to substitute for the degree requirement.
- Minimum of three (3) consecutive years of documented and proven experience working with and/or coordinating programs for children.
- Have a minimum of two (2) consecutive years of documented and proven experience supervising multiple program sites and managing staff.
- Demonstrate strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.

Think critically in their process of task management. This individual must discern how to prioritize tasks. - Knowledge:
Be able to read and comprehend information, compose a variety of documents, and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. (includes laws, codes, safety standards, etc.) - Ability:
Be able to effectively plan, organize, and oversee work programs, including monitoring of work schedules and work performance; adapt to changing work priorities; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines; and work cooperatively; problem solving with data and equipment is required. - Be self‑driven, possess excellent initiative, integrity, and good moral character.
- Possess ability to work effectively and efficiently alone, and cooperatively with other personnel.
- Exhibit interpersonal skills that relate well to students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Demonstrate the ability to use computers for word processing, data management, telecommunications, and other technology and/or systems relevant to the position.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with no serious violations.
- Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I‑9.
- Provide a medical certification demonstrating the ability to perform the essential job functions and responsibilities.
- Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the New Jersey Department of Education.
- Provide a sworn statement that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or disorderly person’s offense during the initial six‑month employment period.
- Pass the State required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by law.
- Other qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate.
- Responsible for the overall management and planning/implementation/evaluation of high‑quality activities at all applicable school sites in the district, including for the Early Learning Academy (ELA) Preschool Classrooms, as well as all Early Morning Programs (EMP).
- Works closely with the Financial Services Department to ensure compliance with State laws and District policies regarding vendor insurance requirements, professional services contracts, purchase orders, completing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and Board approvals for fees and new programming.
- Communicates with community members, including e‑mail correspondence, regarding programming, inquiries, concerns and complaints.
- Provides support, leadership, and guidance to all community programs staff; provides resources specific to ELA, EMP and school‑aged childcare.
