Bergen-Lafayette Montessori School (BLMS) is seeking Spanish Language Teachers to join our school community for the 2026–2027 academic year.
We serve children from 3 months through 5th grade in a bilingual (English–Spanish), mission-driven environment grounded in authentic Montessori practice, clear systems, and high standards of professionalism.
Spanish Language Teachers are assigned to a specific classroom and work in daily partnership with the Lead Teacher to maintain a consistent bilingual environment throughout the school day.

The Spanish Language Teacher supports the classroom by presenting lessons, guiding conversations, and interacting with children in Spanish as part of the daily classroom environment.
This role is collaborative rather than independent. Instruction is coordinated with the Lead Teacher so that language learning remains integrated with classroom routines, materials, and developmental goals.
Successful candidates are consistent, observant, and comfortable working within an established classroom structure while maintaining a calm and respectful presence with children.
Key ResponsibilitiesPresent lessons and communicate with children in Spanish throughout the day
Coordinate daily instruction with the Lead Teacher
Maintain continuity between English and Spanish interactions
Follow classroom routines and expectations
Support transitions, group gatherings, and work periods
Observe students and contribute to documentation as requested
Maintain an orderly, prepared classroom environment
Communicate professionally with staff and families
Participate in meetings and professional development
Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written)
Experience working with young children
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to work consistently within established classroom systems
Montessori classroom experience
Experience working in mixed-age environments
Comfort collaborating closely with another classroom lead
