Hudson County Community College Adjunct Faculty for School of Humanities and Social Sciences – English as a Second Language (ESL)
Hudson County Community College is searching for adjunct ESL Instructors to teach part-time within the College's School of Humanities, Social Sciences, English, and ESL. The adjunct instructor will be responsible for teaching ESL classes in writing, grammar, reading, and academic discussion. Instructors who are bilingual in Spanish and English are also needed to teach bilingual sections.
CompensationCurrent Starting rate for New Adjunct Faculty: $928.00 per Credit. Starting Rate for New Adjunct Faculty: $956.00 per Credit (Effective 9/1/2026).
Responsibilities- Teach ESL classes in writing, grammar, reading, and academic discussion.
- Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with a culturally diverse population and to effectively and respectfully function and communicate within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
- Two years of experience teaching English for Academic Purposes to adults.

Adjunct faculty who are currently employed for four to eight semesters may be granted 50% tuition reduction.
