Pre-K Teacher
In a New Jersey Pre-K Teacher role, you'll plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum, foster a safe and engaging learning environment, and support the social-emotional and cognitive development of young children, while also collaborating with parents and other educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Implementation:
Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards. Use various teaching methods, including hands-on activities, storytelling, and creative expression, to engage children. Design and implement lesson plans that address core concepts like numbers, letters, shapes, and colors. - Classroom Management and Environment:
Create a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration. Supervise children during class time, mealtimes, and outdoor activities. Establish and maintain classroom routines and expectations. - Child Development and Support:
Observe and assess children's individual needs and progress. Provide individualized instruction and support to meet diverse learning needs. Support the social-emotional development of children by promoting positive interactions and conflict resolution skills. - Communication and
Collaboration:
Communicate regularly with parents to share information about their child's progress and development. Collaborate with other educators, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment. Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

- Child Development Knowledge: A strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.

Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. - Patience and Flexibility:
The ability to work with children of varying ages and abilities, and to adapt to changing circumstances. - Classroom Management
Skills:
The ability to create and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. - Observation and Assessment
Skills:
The ability to accurately observe and assess children's learning and development.
