Position

Adjunct Faculty, Criminal Justice and/or Homeland Security

Hudson County Community College, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Jersey City, NJ.

Starting Rate for New Adjunct Faculty: $956.00 per credit.

Responsibilities
  • Teach introductory and advanced Criminal Justice and/or Homeland Security courses.
  • Teach in-person, online, and remote course formats.
  • Scheduling availability for morning, afternoon, and evening classes at Jersey City and Union City campuses.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Homeland Security, Juris Doctor (J.D.), or a closely related field.

Preferred

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Two years of teaching experience.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated use of both traditional and non-traditional teaching methods.
  • Strong understanding of educational technology and current trends in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and Public Safety.
  • Ability to effectively engage and connect with a diverse population of learners.
  • Commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, communication, and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Highly motivated, student-centered, flexible, and people-oriented.
  • Proven ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
