We're a long-established special education organization that has been serving individuals with visual impairments and additional disabilities for more than a century. Programs support children and adults through specialized education, intervention, and community-based services.
We're hiring a full-time 12 month with extended school year Teacher of Students with Disabilities to provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and support students with diverse learning, developmental, and physical needs. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM in Jersey City.

- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction based on each student’s needs and abilities
- Monitor student progress and complete required documentation
- Support behavior interventions, daily living skills, and personal care needs
- Prepare transition plans and support students toward academic and life goals
- New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped Standard Certificate required
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or higher
- At least 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities preferred
- NJ Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification preferred, or willingness to pursue it within two years of employment
