Role Description

This full-time role is for a Senior Electrical CAD / REVIT Designer specializing in Airfield & Infrastructure projects. The responsibilities include creating detailed electrical drawings and schematics, designing electrical systems for airfield and infrastructure projects, collaborating with engineers and project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and troubleshooting designs. The role also involves optimizing designs to improve efficiency, integrating power generation components, and managing deliverables within project timelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in Power Generation systems and applications
  • Technical proficiency in REVIT and CAD software
  • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and meet project deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, is required
  • Previous experience in airfield and/or infrastructure-related projects is highly preferred
The Call

We are seeking a battle-tested Designer who thrives where standards are high, schedules are unforgiving, and the work matters. This role supports the Port Authority’s Electrical Engineering teams on critical infrastructure—airfields, rail, substations, and complex facilities. If you deliver precision under pressure, mentor others by example, and take pride in drawings that stand up to scrutiny, this is your post.

The Mission
  • Produce and modify high-quality CAD and REVIT deliverables for Electrical and Electronics Engineering projects.
  • Prepare: general arrangements, electrical plans and utilities, equipment layouts/elevations, schedules, one-line/riser/wiring diagrams, details.
  • Lead runway and taxiway airfield lighting layouts and coordinate tables in line with FAA AC 150/5340-30 .
  • Work at pace on renovations, new builds, substations, rail systems, roadway lighting, ductbanks, and manholes.
  • Interpret engineer comments and implement them cleanly, quickly, and correctly.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in CAD/REVIT fundamentals.
  • Support Structural Engineering with CAD/REVIT services as needed.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Science, CAD, or related field.
  • 15+ years producing first-class CAD and REVIT drawings for complex electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven, independent command of FAA AC 150/5340-30 airfield ground lighting design.
  • A track record of delivering on aggressive schedules without compromising quality.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; disciplined document control.
Preferred
  • Experience with Structural Engineering construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with Port Authority CAD and BIM Standards .
  • Site survey experience for existing conditions.
  • Experience mentoring or training staff.
  • Comfort working with Confidential and Confidential & Privileged materials.
The non-negotiables for this role are:
  • Expert-level CAD and REVIT on complex electrical infrastructure.
  • 15+ years of proven delivery of construction-ready drawings.
  • Independent command of FAA AC 150/5340-30 for airfield lighting layouts.
  • Ability to perform under aggressive schedules without compromising quality.
  • High technical rigor and attention to detail with minimal rework.
  • Clear communication and ownership
    , including mentoring junior staff.
  • Reliability and professionalism in standards-driven, confidential environments.
