Project Controls Professional – Scheduler Position Summary
The Project Controls Professional – Scheduler is responsible for supporting project scheduling, project controls, performance reporting, and governance activities for major engineering and construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are planned, monitored, and delivered efficiently through the development, maintenance, and analysis of detailed project schedules, performance metrics, and project controls processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Scheduling & Controls
- Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Conduct schedule baseline reviews and periodic schedule update reviews.
- Monitor project progress and evaluate schedule performance against approved baselines.
- Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks, delays, and recovery opportunities.
- Analyze schedule and cost variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Support project governance and project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc schedule performance reports.
- Track and communicate project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.
- Develop reports and dashboards to support project management decision‑making.
- Present schedule analyses and project controls findings to project teams and stakeholders.
Resource & Data Management
- Maintain resource loading and engineering coding structures within scheduling systems.
- Monitor project resource updates and ensure schedule data integrity.
- Support the collection, validation, and management of project controls data.
Process Improvement & Technical Support
- Develop and document project controls procedures, execution plans, standards, and guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project controls personnel.
- Support the administration, implementation, and enhancement of Primavera P6 and related reporting tools.
- Assist with user training and adoption of scheduling software and project controls best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in construction management, project controls, and scheduling.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Experience performing schedule baseline reviews and schedule update reviews.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze project schedules, identify variances, and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience using Microsoft Project.
- Experience supporting large‑scale engineering, infrastructure, transportation, aviation, maritime, or construction programs.
- Knowledge of schedule risk analysis and earned value/project performance reporting.
- Experience developing project controls procedures, standards, and training materials.
Candidates should provide examples of at least two projects demonstrating their experience with:

Hybrid work arrangement based at the World Trade Center in New York City.
CompensationThe good‑faith hourly pay range for this position is approximately $70–$90 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and client requirements.
