Dresdner Robin is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer with up to two (2) years of experience for our Jersey City or Fairfield offices. The candidate shall perform design tasks, research and prepare calculations and drawings, contribute to permit applications and similar documents in support of land development projects. Candidate shall be knowledgeable of Federal, State and local regulation programs which relate to land development and public works projects.

Engineer in Training (EIT) credential is preferred for this position.

Work Activities to Include…
  • Preparing site plans, construction drawings and other design and construction documents for land development projects in the NJ/NY/PA region.
  • Gathering and reviewing zoning ordinances, permit requirements, and applicable land development regulations.
  • Preparing land use permit applications and associated calculations and report for stormwater, sanitary sewer, water service, flood hazard area, coastal, soil erosion, etc.
  • Communicating and coordinating with design team on daily activities and workload progress.
  • Coordinating with regulatory review agents and other design consultants.
  • Periodic field visits to witness construction activities and/or site conditions.
  • Preparing technical reports, memos, letters and other correspondence.
Requirements/

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Proficiency in design using AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Familiarity with Micro Station / Open Roads is a plus
  • Knowledge of Hydrology Studio, Pond Pack, HydroCAD or HydraFLOW
  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong willingness, curiosity, and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong command of design principles.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
