Borchers We are partnering with a leading insurance platform to appoint a Life Insurance CFO to serve as the senior finance leader for a large life business segment. This role acts as the primary financial partner to the business president and leadership team, owning the financial performance, outlook, and strategic direction of the business.

This is not a pure controllership or reporting role. The successful candidate will operate as a true business CFO, responsible for forecasting, capital and reinsurance strategy, profitability by block, and providing actionable insights that guide strategic decisions. The position offers high visibility, regular interaction with executive leadership, and meaningful influence over the long term growth and capital allocation of the business.

* Key responsibilities include:

*** Lead all financial planning activities including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and multi year strategic plans
* Own earnings analysis and explain drivers of performance across product lines and in force blocks
* Monitor profitability, margins, and capital efficiency and recommend actions to improve outcomes
* Partner closely with business, actuarial, and risk teams to evaluate product economics, assumptions, and growth initiatives
* Support and assess reinsurance structures and transactions to optimize capital and balance sheet performance
* Oversee preparation and review of management reporting, executive presentations, and financial analyses for senior leadership
* Serve as a primary finance representative with auditors, rating agencies, and other external stakeholders as needed
* Identify operational improvements, cost optimization opportunities, and process enhancements
* Participate in strategic initiatives including new products, distribution opportunities, and potential acquisitions or divestitures
* Lead and develop a high performing finance team while fostering strong cross functional collaboration
** Skills & Experience
*** 10 to 15 plus years of progressive experience within life insurance finance or accounting
* Strong understanding of life insurance product economics, block profitability, capital management, and in force performance drivers
* Experience partnering directly with business leadership as a segment or divisional finance lead
* Fluency across GAAP, statutory, and related accounting and reporting frameworks
* Hands on experience with forecasting, multi year planning, budgeting, and earnings analysis
* Exposure to reinsurance structures and transactions and their impact on capital and profitability
* Comfortable presenting financial results and insights to senior executives, boards, auditors, and rating agencies
* Strong cross functional collaboration skills with actuarial, risk, controllership, legal, operations, and distribution teams
* Experience operating in a large, matrixed organization preferred
* Proven team leadership and people management capabilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial and actuarial topics into clear business insights
