Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Work Schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Employment Type: 12-month contract to hire

The Accountant II – Finance role supports the preparation of regulatory reports within a broker-dealer environment. This position is responsible for transforming financial data into accurate and compliant regulatory reporting through detailed analysis, reconciliations, and control procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel proficiency.

Regulatory Reporting & Financial Support

• Assist in preparing regulatory and financial reports for a broker-dealer
• Support the full reporting cycle, including data retrieval, aggregation, and calculations
• Provide ad hoc analysis and assist with special projects as assigned

• Analyze financial data to identify exceptions, discrepancies, and trends
• Perform account reconciliations and control checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Work with large datasets using advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
• Create, enhance, and maintain written desktop procedures and related documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to support reporting and compliance initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance)
• Relevant accounting or finance experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and similar functions)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting regulatory or financial reporting in a financial services or broker-dealer environment
• Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, and Power Point
• Ability and willingness to learn and apply new data analysis and reporting tools

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis)
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, and PowerPoint (preferred)
