Senior Vice President, Consumer Compliance Officer (Global Payments & Trade)
Location:
Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL.
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Consumer Compliance Officer – Global Payments & Trade to join our Risk & Compliance team.
Key Responsibilities- Independently contribute to compliance efforts focusing on consumer banking and working with multiple assigned business teams.
- Assist business teams to ensure compliance with BaaS industry best practices and regulation, and identify areas for improvement in BNY’s BaaS compliance framework.
- Assess regulatory consent orders, enforcement actions, notices of proposed rule making, and interact with regulators such as the NYDFS, FRB, OCC, and CFPB.
- Support BaaS products including debit card issuance and acquiring, BIN sponsorship, and FDIC insurance across a broad suite of clients such as NBFIs, Fin Techs, Corporates, MSBs, Broker Dealers, and Life Insurance companies.
- Ensure compliance with consumer banking and payments regulations and policy, inclusive of Regulation E, NACHA, and other state and federal payment rules.
- Apply expertise in UDAAP, Regulation CC, Regulation DD, Regulation Z, Regulation B, Gramm‑Leach Bliley Act, consumer privacy protections, federal garnishment rules, Escheatment, Regulation II, and consumer protection provisions in card network rules and other applicable payment network rules.
- Partner with business managers and internal stakeholders to review new products for compliance with applicable laws and align with BNY’s risk tolerance, and develop compliance monitoring and reporting for BaaS and Consumer products.
- Based on assessment of controls, work with business teams to implement improvements, including drafting or reviewing updated policies, procedures, or matrices.
- Contribute to development of projects and programs to improve compliance and enhance the control environment.
- Build strong partnerships with managers in business teams to respond to reports issued by regulatory agencies or audit, and comfortably host discussions and lead presentations for an executive audience.
- Help prepare risk‑based reviews of new and existing clients seeking to use BNY’s BaaS services or consumer‑related products, including facilitation of compliance calls with clients and prospects.
- Contribute to the preparation of time‑sensitive reporting and appropriately escalates issues to management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience required; JD or comparable graduate degree preferred.
- More than 5 years’ experience in consumer compliance industry; background in financial services, audit or compliance, and experience with consumer banking compliance and relevant regulators.
