Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Specialist to support trade processing and settlement activities, with a focus on securities settling through the Depository Trust Company (DTC). This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely trade execution while managing risk, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Process and settle trades across equities, corporate fixed income, and commercial paper via DTC
- Manage delivery and receipt of trades with brokers and financial institutions
- Verify trade details (account number, quantity, CUSIP, etc.) against client and broker information
- Monitor daily trade volume and meet strict processing deadlines
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as DTC reclaims and mismatched trade data
- Escalate high-value or complex trade issues to management as needed
- Communicate with clients, counter parties, and internal teams to resolve issues and minimize risk
- Support reconciliation activities to ensure trade and account accuracy
- Contribute to reporting activities, including tracking trade volumes and performance metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance process workflows
- Collaborate as part of a team while maintaining accountability for individual work
- Experience in trade processing, settlements, or financial operations (DTC experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of securities processing and settlement workflows
- Ability to review and resolve trade discrepancies under tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate issues when needed
- Proficiency in computer systems and financial processing tools
- Experience with DTC systems and custody operations
- Familiarity with trade verification systems (e.g., Sonic or similar platforms)
- Background in financial services, banking, or brokerage operations
