Reporting Analyst | Am Law 200 Firm | NYC Hybrid
New York, NY | Hybrid (3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote) $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus
A nationally recognized AmLaw 200 law firm is seeking a Reporting Analyst to join its Finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will play a highly visible role in transforming and modernizing reporting across the firm's financial and operational functions.
This opportunity is ideal for a legal finance professional who enjoys working beyond standard report production and is passionate about analytics, process improvement, and business intelligence. The role offers broad exposure to firm leadership and the ability to influence strategic decision-making across finance, billing, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and enhance reporting related to time, productivity, and utilization metrics
- Revenue, WIP, billing, rates, and realization
- Partner compensation, originations, and credit allocations
- Collections, accounts receivable, and cash flow
- Financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
- Industry surveys and banking-related reporting
Process Improvement & Reporting Optimization
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing reports
- Improve reporting accuracy, usability, and timeliness
- Eliminate manual processes and duplicate workflows
- Partner with Finance, Billing, Accounting, and IT teams to improve data integrity
Financial Systems & Data Management
- Extract, validate, and analyze information from legal financial systems
- Develop a strong understanding of WIP, AR, clients, matters, and timekeeper structures
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Ensure consistency and reliability across reporting outputs
Strategic Analysis
- Analyze profitability, realization, collections, and performance trends
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide leadership with actionable business insights
- Contribute to ongoing reporting strategy and data governance initiatives
Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining financial and operational reports
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Ability to convert complex data into meaningful business insights
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred
- Experience with Elite 3E, Aderant, Iridium BI, or similar legal financial systems
- Exposure to Power BI or other data visualization platforms
- Familiarity with SQL-based reporting, data cubes, or data models
- Experience supporting profitability, realization, and performance analysis within a law firm
