What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Head of Revenue Management, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and optimizing process flows pertaining to internal management revenues/accounting/tax/entity setup/ to best leverage USCM deposits for enterprise funding needs;
- Partnering with Treasury on funds transfer pricing processes, balance sheet tracking and interest rate hedging requirements;
- Developing business performance indicators and driving analytics regarding profitability at client, product & portfolio level, in partnership with Finance;
- Working with Finance to review program financials and identify revenue and cost drivers for actual and forecast
US Cash Management (USCM) Business is a unique opportunity to build the cash management business of the future from the ground up. This is an exciting time to join a start-up function within RBC, built from scratch and anchored in a technical/digital play vs. a traditional play, enabling RBC to compete with new entrants in this space!
What will you do?
- Review and optimize the booking/tax/legal structure through the revenue lens, to best leverage USCM deposits for enterprise funding needs. This requires high fluency with cross-jurisdiction (Canada & US) regulatory rules.
- Partner with Treasury functions and funding desks on funds transfer pricing (FTP) approach, cash movements and establish monitoring processes to ensure accurate financial booking
- Define objectives & key results for business performance and perform data driven analysis of profitability at client, product and portfolio level
- Work with Finance to review program financials and identify revenue and cost drivers for actual and forecast
People Leadership & Collaboration
- Selects, builds, and leads a high performing process optimization and performance analytics team, leveraging individual capabilities and strengths Provides coaching, mentoring and professional development that further embeds the right culture, values, and leadership behaviors Works with team members to establish goals, drive performance management, support career development and reward strong performance.
- Ability to forge strong relationships and routines with cross functional partners to drive strong business outcomes
- Partner with Corporate Treasury on any process required for internal liquidity measures, balance sheet tracking, hedging and interest rate management
- Explore firm-wide revenue opportunities through partnership with other capital markets businesses and functional partners (legal, tax, treasury, capital markets businesses, Finance, balance sheet risks)
What do you need to succeed?
- Graduate degree in a related field
- In-depth knowledge of banks' balance sheets and ability to map out liquidity sources and uses across the enterprise
- Fluency with Canadian and US regulatory rules applicable to cross jurisdictional activities
- Experience in balance sheets optimization ideally cross jurisdictions
- Experience in Treasury/Finance Performance Management/Financial Control
- Experience in leading or shaping large transformational efforts
- High degree of business and financial acumen
- Able to perform data-driven analytics including the synthesis of complex data into meaningful insights
- Able to work with x-functional teams and functional partners to design an efficient process architecture that adheres to all RBC policies and controls.
- Required:
University degree in a related field - Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages, trade-offs and tell a compelling story
- Ability to both grasp big picture and have rigorous attention to detail
- Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines
- Broad network and ability to influence across the organization is critical
Preferred
- Experience working in transaction banking at another FI
- US Cash Management experience
- Experience leading or shaping large transformational efforts
- Professional designation (CFA/FRM/CPA/CA/CMA)
