Transformation Spending Oversight Leader

RBC is establishing centralized oversight and governance of transformation spending across Digital, Business, and Technology & Operations departments. In this critical role, you will lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive spend management framework that ensures financial discipline, transparency, and strategic alignment of transformation investments. You'll work directly with the Chief Transformation Officer and senior leadership to establish governance processes, create real-time visibility into spending across departments, and enable informed executive decision-making.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how RBC manages one of its most strategic investments while influencing key stakeholders across the enterprise.

What will you do?

  • Consolidate and track transformation spending across Digital, Business, and T&O departments, providing holistic visibility of investments and expenditures
  • Design and deploy comprehensive reporting mechanisms that capture spend by department, initiative, program, and business outcome with real-time visibility
  • Establish governance structures, approval workflows, and financial controls to ensure all transformation spending adheres to corporate policies and strategic priorities
  • Monitor budget performance against approved budgets, identify variances >5%, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Deliver regular executive summaries, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses to inform leadership decision-making on transformation investment strategy
  • Facilitate alignment among Digital, Business, and T&O stakeholders to ensure consistent spending standards and coordinated reporting
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails supporting compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive process optimization by identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness of financial information

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, business finance management, or program/project finance in large, complex organizations
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; ability to interpret and communicate financial insights
  • Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple departments without direct authority; strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences (finance professionals, business leaders, executives)
  • Proficiency with financial management systems (SAP, Anaplan) and strong Excel skills; experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferred

Nice-to-have:

  • MBA or advanced certification in finance
  • Experience in financial services or banking industry
  • Familiarity with transformation or change management initiatives in large enterprises
  • Experience implementing new processes and systems; proven ability to manage adoption across departments

The expected salary range for this particular position is $,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
