We are looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives and ensure a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment. This role is critical to maintaining our commitment to employee well-being and regulatory excellence. You will oversee all aspects of safety—from OSHA compliance and training to incident investigation and budget management. This role will have direct reports and is hands-on on the plant floor.
Responsibilities- Lead Safety Programs:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve regulatory and company safety programs (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI). - Policy Management:
Create, review, and enforce plant safety policies and procedures. - Training Oversight:
Assign, track, and report on all regulatory and safety training across the facility. - Workers Compensation:
Manage cases including doctor visits, light duty assignments, reporting, and financial forecasting. - Hazard Identification:
Train employees, conduct audits, develop corrective actions, and monitor progress. - Budget Control:
Oversee the health & safety budget including PPE, supplies, and first aid resources. - Reporting:
Prepare and present weekly/monthly safety performance reports. - Incident Response:
Serve as Medical First Responder and lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and case management. - Change Management:
Conduct safety reviews for Management of Change processes.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA standards, and Workers Compensation laws.
- Proven experience in hazard recognition, incident investigation, and case management.
- Certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with plant leadership.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10 days/year).
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to drive Health & Safety programs.
- Collaborative with Environmental Manager and Facility Nurse to drive safety culture; hands-on presence on the plant floor.
