Position Overview
The Strategy Data & AI Consultant will play a key role in advancing the Engineering Department’s digital transformation by developing enterprise-wide data governance strategies, AI adoption frameworks, and innovation roadmaps. This position requires a highly analytical and strategic professional capable of driving complex organizational change, aligning technology strategy with operational needs, and collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, technical, and business units.
Working within the Engineering Solutions Unit, the consultant will assess data maturity, define governance models, build AI readiness plans, and lead initiatives supporting responsible AI adoption. This role will directly impact operational efficiency, technology modernization, and long-term digital innovation within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive Data Governance Strategy to support enterprise-wide digital transformation.
- Build an AI Strategy focused on AI adoption, governance, risk management, staff upskilling, and responsible AI integration.
- Assess organizational Data Maturity and create actionable roadmaps for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to embed innovation, experimentation, and responsible AI practices across the organization.
- Establish processes for the curation, evaluation, and deployment of AI innovations.
- Develop an AI Governance Risk Assessment framework aligned with agency-wide standards.
- Identify required people, processes, and technologies to support scalable AI solutions.
- Manage Data Governance initiatives from discovery through delivery and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure alignment with the Agency AI Strategy.
- Analyze complex problems from a technology and information perspective, proposing high-impact solutions.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and ROI.
- Plan and assign project work to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Facilitate working groups using interviews, workshops, business process reviews, and other discovery methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data/Computer Science, or a related field;
Master’s degree strongly preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience leading AI strategy and executing AI initiatives in large organizations.
