Senior Risk Associate

Job Description

The Risk Associate will support Sales and Enterprise Credit teams by analyzing risk and exposure data, translating quantitative insights into clear business context, and ensuring accurate communication across risk, technology, and quantitative teams. This role sits at the intersection of data, risk oversight, and stakeholder management, requiring strong analytical skills without direct responsibility for model development.

• Analyze risk and exposure data to identify trends, limit breaches, and anomalies.
• Develop clear, actionable insights from quantitative data and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support ongoing monitoring of underwriting limits and credit exposure.

• Partner closely with Sales and Enterprise Credit teams to explain exposure levels, limit utilization, and risk drivers.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and quantitative/technology teams, ensuring mutual understanding of issues and requirements.
• Clearly communicate when exposure exceeds established limits and help diagnose root causes.

• Investigate data discrepancies and determine whether issues stem from upstream data, system logic, or reporting processes.
• Escalate and articulate data or system issues to quantitative and technology teams with well-defined problem statements and supporting analysis.

• Translate technical and quantitative outputs into business-relevant language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Convert business needs and regulatory expectations into clear technical or data requirements for partner teams.

• Support interactions with regulators, auditors, and internal risk governance teams.
• Provide data, explanations, and documentation related to exposure monitoring, limits, and controls.
• Partner effectively during audits and reviews to ensure transparency and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude, with the ability to interpret and explain data-driven insights.
• Experience working with risk, credit, or exposure data in a financial services or regulated environment.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical (quant, data, tech) and business stakeholders.
  
  - Experience supporting credit risk, exposure monitoring, or underwriting functions.
• Familiarity with risk reporting tools, dashboards, or large datasets.
• Prior experience acting as a bridge between business users and technical teams.
