Step into a Senior Engineering role where you’ll shape the future of Data Center Solutions. As the Solutions Engineer, you’ll lead solution design, data center operational planning, cloud-integrated systems support, and large-scale process optimization initiatives across a global network. This role blends engineering design, supply chain optimization, technical system implementation, cloud-based analytics, and 3rd-party logistics (3PL) program leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in SAP EWM, solution design, cloud technologies, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional project management.

- Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs), develop client-tailored solutions for data center logistics, and present for approval to business unit executives and clients.
- Develop end-to-end operational solutions for inventory management, material flow, data integration, and site-level process optimization.
- Partner with Business Development, Account Management, Launch, and Operations teams to develop and implement solutions for new and existing business; support Sales through proposals, presentations, and customer discussions.
- Design scalable data pipelines, model training environments, and inference infrastructure optimized for performance and cost.
- Recommend capital equipment purchases or leases (e.g., forklifts, tooling, lift assists, generators, compressed air systems, racking, sweepers/scrubbers, compactors) for project needs.
- Develop solution concepts for customer proposals—including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts—in collaboration with the Engineering team.
- Initiate pricing by engaging Finance/Controllers early to validate financial models, ROI, and customer-specific pricing structures.
- Lead planning and deployment of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) within data center environments, including system readiness, hypercare, training, and documentation.
- Design and refine data-center material flows, inventory processes, and operational control mechanisms.
- Integrate cloud-based platforms (Big Query, cloud data pipelines, automation tools) to improve visibility, reporting, and scalability.
- Analyze customer RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs to identify solution requirements and solution development needs.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, cloud infrastructure, and operations teams to implement advanced technologies—including machine learning and cloud analytics—to improve throughput, reliability, and cycle time.
- Develop continuous improvement frameworks using Lean, Six Sigma, cloud analytics, and advanced data modeling.
- Implement workflow enhancements and cloud-based automation tools to accelerate decision-making and improve performance.
- Clarify and resolve complex business issues by breaking them down into meaningful components, determining root causes, and redesigning internal and external business processes.
- Travel domestically 25% of the time, and occasionally internationally, to conduct customer site surveys and develop value propositions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (PhD preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience conceptualizing, designing, and implementing scalable logistics, data center, and cloud-integrated solutions.
- 5+ years of related experience working in a 3PL (Third-party Logistics) distribution or logistics environment.
- Comprhensive understanding of cloud platforms and data center logistics.
- Experience managing multiple RFPs across sectors (data center, tech, auto, consumer, retail, healthcare).
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance in AI and data systems.
- Exposure to automation systems (sortation, AGVs, AMRs, Auto Store, conveyors, goods-to-person) is a plus.
- Ability to travel an average of 25% of the time as needed, both domestically and internationally.
