Information Technology Support Specialist

Schedule: 35-hour workweek. Summer schedule through 8/14:
Monday-Thursday, 8:15 AM-5:30 PM. Beginning 8/17: either 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Our higher education client is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and support daily IT operations across multiple locations. This role is based in Jersey City and may require travel to other campus locations as needed.

• Provide technical support to users through phone, email, chat, remote assistance, and in‑person interactions
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system‑related issues in a timely manner
• Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced support requests and coordinate issue resolution
• Document service requests, troubleshooting activities, and solutions within the ticketing system
• Assign and monitor the work of student workers and part‑time staff as needed
• Attend meetings, training sessions, and other activities related to assigned responsibilities

• Previous experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a related technical role
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, and troubleshooting
• Experience working with ticketing systems and documenting technical support activities
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between locations and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
