AI Engineer

Genesis
10 is currently seeking an AI Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to work on a high-visibility Gen AI project involving summarization and a chatbot supporting a high volume of documents. This position is for a self-starter with strong technical skills and leadership qualities who can effectively communicate difficult technical concepts.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data management and storage applications, often using new technologies
• Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Provide work leadership by assigning work and resolving problems
• Translate business strategy into achievable tactics

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree and/or equivalent experience in a related IS/IT discipline
• Typically over 10 years of related IT experience
• 2+ years of professional experience as a data scientist executing end-to-end Gen AI projects
• Experience with LLM Models (Llama, Mixtral, Mistral)
• Experience with various inferencing mechanisms (transformer/pipeline, vllm)
• Experience with agentic framework: langgraph
• Experience with evaluation frameworks: RAGAS, langsmith, phoenix-arize
• Experience with embedding (all-MiniLM-L6-v2, all-mpnet-base-v2)
• Experience with LLM development framework:
  Langchain, Llama Index
• Experience with Rest API, FastAPI, Websockets
• Experience with Enterprise Redis Database, Qdrant, Cockroach
• Must have experience working with Model Risk Management/Model Governance, including delivering on a Gen AI project following model governance guidelines, writing a model document, and building model monitoring capabilities
• Strong programming experience with Python

Desired skills:

• Angular experience is a huge plus
• Experience with Slurm, Hadoop/Hive, Neo4J, Apache Spark, Kafka, and MongoDB is a plus
• Knowledge of machine-learning techniques, classifiers, and statistical methods
• Advanced degree, or equivalent experience, in mathematics, data science or other quantitative discipline
• Demonstrated success in executing high-value, enterprise projects with clear articulation of benefits, costs, and risk
• Superb communication, coaching, and management skills

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
