Functional Analyst

Job Description

One of our top financial services clients is looking to onboard a Functional Analyst to support enterprise capital and finance technology initiatives, with a strong focus on regulatory reporting, data-driven solutions, and product delivery.

The role requires a combination of domain knowledge, analytical ability, and ownership mindset to drive end-to-end delivery across business and technology teams.

Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to leverage modern AI tools and prompting techniques to improve productivity and analysis quality.

• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders

• Translate requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Perform impact analysis for regulatory and business changes

• Maintain traceability from requirements through delivery

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineering teams in Agile setup

• Participate in sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, reviews)

• Clarify requirements and resolve functional queries during development

• Ensure alignment with product roadmap and delivery goals

• Analyze large datasets for functional design and issue resolution

• Perform data reconciliation and validation for reporting outputs

• Work across upstream/downstream systems to ensure data integrity

• Develop functional test cases and UAT scenarios

• Support SIT/UAT execution and defect management

• Validate system outputs against business expectations

• Ensure overall solution quality prior to deployment

• Act as liaison between business and technology teams

• Conduct requirement walkthroughs and working sessions

• Provide clear and concise documentation

• Interpret regulatory requirements (Basel, capital reporting, etc.)

• Support implementation of regulatory changes into systems

• Ensure adherence to compliance and audit standards

• Use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, LLM-based assistants) to:

• Accelerate requirement documentation

• Generate test scenarios and analysis summaries

• Assist in data investigation and root cause analysis

• Apply effective prompting techniques to extract insights from datasets and documentation

• Validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

• Identify opportunities to integrate AI into delivery workflows

• Follow responsible AI practices (data privacy, traceability, accuracy)

• 2+ years of experience as Functional Analyst / Business Analyst

• Experience in Financial Services / Banking domain

• Exposure to Regulatory Reporting (preferred)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery model

• Ability to create functional specifications / BRDs / user stories

• Test cases and acceptance criteria

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Working knowledge of data analysis; SQL preferred

• Hands-on exposure to AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) in day-to-day work - Experience with Basel reporting (RWA, capital calculations)

• Familiarity with data platforms / ETL processes

• Experience working with global teams

• Exposure to JIRA, Confluence, SQL, BI tools

• Demonstrated use of AI in improving delivery productivity
