Data Center Engineer

We are seeking a Data Center Technician to support production infrastructure across data center operations, hardware, fibre connectivity, and Linux/Windows server administration. This role requires hands‑on experience in a physical data center environment and the ability to troubleshoot systems, network, and connectivity issues.

• Rack, cable, install, troubleshoot, and decommission servers, storage, and networking equipment.
• Diagnose copper and fibre connectivity issues, including patch panels, transceivers, and host/network links.
• Test, inspect, clean, and validate fibre using OTDRs, optical power meters, and inspection tools.
• Build and administer Linux and Windows Server environments, including networking, patching, hardening, storage, and Active Directory integration.
• Maintain asset records, documentation, runbooks, and support infrastructure changes with internal teams, vendors, and carriers.
• Participate in on‑call or off‑hours support for critical infrastructure needs.

• 5+ years of experience in a data center technician, systems administrator, or infrastructure support role.
• Hands‑on experience racking, cabling, and troubleshooting production data center hardware.
• Experience administering Linux servers and Windows Server environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and out‑of‑band management tools.
• Experience troubleshooting copper and fibre connectivity, including fibre testing, inspection, and cleaning.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physical data center environment.
• Associate degree or higher in IT, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with configuration management, automated provisioning, virtualization, SAN/HCI, ITSM tools, or monitoring platforms.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Linux+, RHCSA, MCSA/MCSE, BICSI, Corning, or Fluke Networks.
