IT Project Manager, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations, Systems Engineer, AWS
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. This role combines technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful implementations of AWS‑based solutions for our clients. The EM bridges business requirements and technical solutions, facilitates technical discussions, and ensures alignment with customer outcomes.
Applying AWS frameworks such as the Well‑Architected Framework and the Cloud Adoption Framework, the EM distills customer needs into clear technical requirements, decomposes complex problems, and makes informed trade‑off decisions that consider performance, scalability, security, and business impact. The EM will validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks. They will be expected to maintain relevant AWS certifications, develop domain‑specific expertise, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
As they progress, the EM will lead increasingly complex projects, shape cross‑organizational strategies, and establish best practices in their domain. They will also apply management and leadership capabilities to execute project plans, proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.
- Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects.
- Leverage comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning.
- Bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate engineering discussions, and ensure alignment with customer business outcomes.
- Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements and map them to business outcomes.
- Decompose complex technical problems into actionable, deliverable solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation and define documentation standards.
- Validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks.
- Maintain relevant AWS certifications and develop domain‑specific expertise.
- Communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
- Manage project plans, proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, and drive projects to completion.
- 5+ years of cloud computing experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- At least 2 years of leading multiple Agile teams (e.g., Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently or at scale.
- 5+ years of leading and delivering enterprise‑level IT engagements.
- 5+ years of delivering customer engagements in a professional services role.
- Active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI‑ACP, PRINCE2).
- AWS certification.
- Experience with Agile and project management toolsets (e.g., Jira, Rally, Version One, Taiga).
- Experience presenting to C‑level executives and cross‑functional teams.

Compensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is listed below. The Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
