Overview

We are seeking a GCP Platform Engineering Lead at the VP level to build and operate internal platform capabilities that enable secure, scalable application onboarding on GCP. This role will focus on creating automation, golden paths, and guardrails that improve developer experience while maintaining strong security, governance, and operational standards.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on expertise in GCP, Terraform, and Python, along with proven experience leading platform engineering teams in regulated or enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering delivery for application onboarding automation, including Terraform modules, pipelines, and validation frameworks.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for module quality, state management, pull request controls, and drift detection/remediation.
• Embed security-by-default guardrails across the platform and partner with security and compliance teams on evidence automation.
• Own platform operations, including reliability, incident response, SLOs/SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and security teams to streamline onboarding through reusable, scalable platform patterns.
• Drive adoption of golden paths and reduce friction in the application onboarding lifecycle.
• Continuously improve platform capability, operational efficiency, and control maturity.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with GCP and Terraform at scale.
• Experience leading platform teams and operating production-grade internal platforms.
• Strong understanding of security, governance, and engineering controls in regulated environments.
• Ability to balance platform scalability, reliability, and developer enablement.
