GCP Cloud Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Network Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud networking, Python, Terraform, and enterprise network security.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable networking solutions for onboarded applications. This includes network segmentation, hybrid connectivity, ingress/egress architecture, firewall controls, and infrastructure provisioning through Terraform.

The successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and a security-first approach to cloud networking.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable networking solutions for applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build and operate VPC and Shared VPC environments, including subnets, routes, firewall policies, and DNS patterns.
• Design and implement secure network segmentation and egress control patterns.
• Define and maintain ingress/egress architecture, including:
• NAT
• Load balancing
• Private access
• Firewall policies
• Routing
• Support hybrid connectivity architectures using VPN and Cloud Interconnect.
• Troubleshoot complex networking, routing, connectivity, and application access issues.
• Use network logs, flow data, monitoring tools, and systematic troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve incidents.
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules for cloud network provisioning.
• Implement network changes through controlled, staged rollouts with appropriate change management and blast-radius considerations.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, Dev Ops, infrastructure, and application teams to onboard applications securely.
• Ensure cloud network configurations meet security, reliability, and operational requirements.
• Participate in incident response and provide timely resolution for connectivity and network-related issues.
• Automate operational tasks and network processes using Python where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud networking, network engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP networking.
• Strong understanding of:
• VPC / Shared VPC
• Subnets
• Routes
• Firewall rules/policies
• DNS
• Load balancing
• Private connectivity
• Experience designing secure network segmentation and egress control architectures.
• Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure/network provisioning.
• Ability to create and maintain reusable Terraform modules.
• Understanding of infrastructure change safety, staged deployments, and blast-radius management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using logs, VPC Flow Logs, flow data, monitoring, and network telemetry.
• Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity concepts such as VPN and Cloud Interconnect.
• Strong understanding of routing and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with Python for automation and scripting
