The responsibilities of a vendor manager in telecom include1 Interacting with vendors concerning any concerns Building and maintaining good relationships with already approved old and new vendors Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing telecom systems Provide technical support to customers and internal teams Stay up-to-date with advancements in telecom technology and recommend upgrades where necessary Prepare technical documentation for telecom systems Test and validate new telecom equipment and software releases Provide training and guidance to junior members of the team Researching new vendors based on price and quality and selecting them based on the vendor management plan Communicating with the vendors and performing the quality check, dealing with the price and improvements Establishing standards and analyzing based on them Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality Resolve vendor-related issues, disputes, and contract discrepancies.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to forecast demand and ensure supply consistency. Requirements and Skills Proven experience as a Vendor Manager or similar role in supply chain management. Familiarity with market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset. Superb communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
