Skills & Experience:

Strong hands on experience with IBM MQ / Web Sphere MQ. Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills. Experience working in Linux, Unix, Windows, or Mainframe environments. Exposure to Python, scripting, or automation. Experience building automation using Ansible. Exposure to App Connect or related IBM middleware technologies. Networking fundamentals. Ability to understand system behavior beyond standard operational runbooks.

Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a Kafka Engineer to join one of our largest financial clients onsite 2-3x a week in Jersey City, NJ or Pittsburgh, PA. They will be joining the Messaging team which is responsible for enterprise messaging platforms supporting critical business applications. The group provides consulting, engineering, automation, deployment, and platform support for messaging technologies including IBM MQ and related IBM messaging products.

This is an engineering-focused environment where team members are expected to understand how messaging systems work, troubleshoot complex issues, automate repetitive tasks, and help internal teams leverage messaging technologies effectively.

What You'll Do:
Engineer and support IBM MQ messaging environments. Work with application teams to design and implement messaging solutions. Provide consulting to internal teams on messaging architecture and product usage. Troubleshoot complex production issues and identify root causes. Build automation solutions using Python, Ansible, and scripting. Support messaging infrastructure deployments and platform improvements. Participate in project-based initiatives ranging from platform expansion to process automation.

Collaborate with infrastructure, development, security, and application teams.
