The Data Specialist is responsible for the creation, maintenance, analysis, and governance of data within SAP and related business systems. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and quality of organizational data while processing requests in a timely manner. Acting as a subject matter expert, the Data Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve data-related issues, improve processes, and support business operations through reliable data management practices.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, organize, and streamline company data to support operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business teams across the organization to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
- Create and maintain new item records for Merchandising teams.
- Perform item maintenance and updates across SAP and other business systems.
- Review advertisements and promotional offers in InMar to ensure data accuracy.
- Conduct detailed analysis of product and master data across multiple databases and applications.
- Create and maintain business partner records in SAP, including stores, vendors, and employees.
- Support data implementation activities, including testing and validation.
- Investigate and resolve product data issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrections.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity, governance compliance, and data quality standards.
- Manage and maintain data-related reports, resolving errors and discrepancies on a daily basis.
- Partner with IT teams to address system issues and implement data-related enhancements.
- Assist in the development of training materials and documentation.
- Apply established data governance policies and best practices.
- Provide insights on data entry standards and system-enabled business processes.
- Serve as a data subject matter expert and educate business users on data management practices.
- Monitor data quality and elevate non-compliance issues involving internal stakeholders, stores, or vendors.
- Perform additional data management and reporting duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Experience with data analysis, data maintenance, or master data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data quality and accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred.
