Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated individual for the role of Senior Underwriting Technician – Complex Accounts as part of the Complex Account Practice (CAP) team within Private Client Select. CAP is an exclusive team dedicated to underwriting the most sophisticated and high‑exposure accounts within the PCS portfolio, with total property limits exceeding $. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the portfolio with high marketplace visibility and national reach.
In this role, you will be responsible for core underwriting functions relative to a renewal book of business. A highly successful candidate will work alongside leadership and underwriting partners to analyze existing renewals through established authority protocol with a focus on quality, timeliness, creativity, service, and retention.
- Understand Private Client Select’s workflows, contracts, underwriting strategy, and systems.
- Evaluate the most technically complex and difficult policies and endorsements against prescribed criteria to determine if risk qualifies for renewal; verify and rate renewal business (understand rating factors) and complete extensive spreadsheets to aid in review and understanding of accounts.
- Investigate inconsistencies related to risk acceptance, review situations not covered by criteria, and develop information for underwriters to isolate problems.
- Issue policies, endorsements, and cancellations; prepare policy writing instructions and premium billings; process individual policy filings; analyze submissions for accuracy of policy issuance information from the underwriter and/or broker, ensuring policies contain all compliance information as indicated on the bind requests prior to release.
- Resolve procedural and computational problems of involved, lengthy, multi‑location, or difficult risks. Assist with billing requests.
- Partner with underwriters to enhance renewal insurance programs and find ways to retain customers.
- Assist the underwriter in the preparation of line reports and agency analysis and completion of the Audit.
- Participate in special projects as needed and conduct Quality Control of issued policies and accurate file maintenance.
- Understand and adhere to authority guidelines.
- A minimum of 2 years of Personal Lines Property & Casualty HNW Insurance experience or relevant professional experience
- Some knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment; adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions

- P&C licensing is required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

The ideal candidate will live within a reasonable commuting distance of a PCS office to support regular on‑site presence.
