As a Customs Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, your job is to optimise logistics to keep our global supply chains running smoothly. Your expertise ensures that global product launches happen on time and helps deliver ethically sourced goods to consumers worldwide. This role involves import and export work and is essential to the operation of the Customs Brokerage Department as per NBSC guidelines.

- Process shipments within department guidelines according to NBSC Customer list and Controlling branch instructions.
- Enter and maintain all data necessary to process and facilitate shipments through U.S. Customs and PSG's accurately and in a timely manner.
- Classify goods according to customer SOPs and/or instructions.
- Check Cargo Wise "buckets" daily to ensure all steps in entry/brokerage processes are being followed.
- Review and assess documents for accuracy, verifying critical data elements for entry processing.
- Scan and archive entry document images; communicate any documentation discrepancies to supervisor and/or controlling branch.
- Request or compile any necessary import documentation from clients.
- Complete all PSG data interfaces (e.g., FDA, EPA, DOT, FCC, Fish & Wildlife) accurately and communicate entry number and status to carriers.
- A high school diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience in Customs Clearance and Customer Service.
- Working knowledge of Cargo Wise.
- Knowledge of domestic and international geography, including major cities and ocean ports, and basic knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Laws.
- Basic knowledge of Incoterms, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Customs regulations, and other government agency requirements.
