LOGISTICS AND INVENTORY SPECIALIST

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Experience: 3–5 Years of Logistics / Inventory Management Experience

Compensation: $65,000–$80,000 Base Salary

Position Overview

Our client, a global leader in the fitness and wellness industry, is seeking a Logistics and Inventory Specialist to support inventory management, third-party logistics (3PL) operations, and supply chain processes from their Jersey City office.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in inventory management and SAP who has experience maintaining inventory accuracy across multiple warehouse locations. The role will also support 3PL management, international logistics, stock governance, and continuous process improvement.

This is a fully on-site position, five days per week
, reporting to the VP of Order Fulfillment and Logistics.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and optimize inventory across multiple warehouse locations, ensuring inventory accuracy, control, and reporting.
  • Use SAP to manage inventory, warehouse operations, stock movements, and supply chain data.
  • Ensure alignment between physical and system/accounting inventory through variance analysis, stock counts, and warehouse audits.
  • Monitor stock levels and rotation and resolve inventory discrepancies or incorrect warehouse assignments.
  • Manage warehouse-to-warehouse stock transfers and associated costs.
  • Manage relationships with 3PL providers, including contracts, KPIs, SLAs, monthly reviews, and improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic audits of 3PL inventory-management capabilities.
  • Review 3PL invoices, logistics costs, and inventory variances.
  • Support international logistics, including air freight, ocean freight (FCL/LCL), customs clearance, duties, and import/export compliance.
  • Coordinate freight transportation, small-parcel shipping, and reverse logistics/returns.
  • Partner with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouse teams, and internal departments.
  • Maintain logistics and inventory KPI reporting and analyze cost trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory control, transportation efficiency, and logistics processes.
  • Lead cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
  • 3–5 years of relevant logistics, inventory, warehouse, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong hands-on inventory management and inventory control experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with SAP, particularly for inventory management, warehouse operations, and supply chain analysis.
  • Experience managing inventory across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation, variance analysis, stock counts, and warehouse audits.
  • Experience working with and managing 3PL providers.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and transportation cost management.
  • Prior experience supporting international logistics operations required.
  • Understanding of air/ocean freight, customs, import/export processes, and freight transportation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work on-site five days per week in Jersey City.
Preferred Experience
  • Strong background in inventory management, with logistics experience supporting the inventory function.
  • Advanced daily usage of SAP for inventory and warehouse functions.
  • Multi-warehouse inventory management.
  • Physical-to-system inventory reconciliation.
  • 3PL contract, KPI, SLA, and performance management.
  • International freight and customs experience.

    Inventory and logistics process-improvement experience.
