  • BSN, or currently enrolled in a BSN program
  • 5 years of OR experience
  • CNOR certification required within one year after hire
  • Successful completion of orientation programs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient Computer Skills

Preferred:

  • Membership in professional nursing organization preferred, AORN

Certifications and Licenses

Required:

  • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Monday – Friday
  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

Identifies and coordinates the need of service line physicians through scheduled meetings

Ensures that service line preference cards are maintained and upgraded in a timely fashion

Coordinates with OR Director to make daily room assignments appropriate to the skill level of service line team members

Coordinates with Materials Management and Central Sterile Department, service needs and issues

Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures

Participates in hospital safety programs

Demonstrates/states hospital and departmental policies and procedures and applies consistently

Maintains regulatory readiness

Manages the service line s day to day clinical operations including practice standards staffing, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement

Manages, plans, and monitors service line activities

Provides direct patient care as needed, to include giving breaks and lunch relief

Facilitates and controls the turnaround time s process through OR staff utilization coordination

Collaborates with service line team members to ensure all necessary equipment for their service line cases across the shifts

Identifies and coordinates educational needs of services line team members with OR educator through scheduled in-service

Develops orientation program for the service line team members,

In conjunction with Department of Education, maintains competency records for service line personnel

Develops and implements action plans to improve staff development,

Balances professional and personal pursuits

Demonstrates principles of self care and supports members of the health care team in self care practices

Meets requirements as defined by applicable department specific competency checklist. Ability to direct others and negotiate for desired results. Ability to work well as part of the leadership team. Demonstrates decision making and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of administration, budgeting principles, and personnel management.

Clinical competency in OR. Demonstrated knowledge of computers and EMR.
