Salary Range: $41 – $43 per hour

As a home‑care registered nurse (RN), you will ensure hospice patients are comfortable and forge compassionate, meaningful connections with their families and caregivers.

You will guide patients and families through the end‑of‑life journey, maintaining the trust they place in VITAS nurses. As a caregiver and hospice educator, you will have the autonomy to make bedside care decisions and help patients and loved ones understand the palliative nature of hospice and the benefits of comfort‑focused care.

Most of your time will be spent caring for hospice patients in their homes, private residences, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities. You will typically make 4–6 visits each day and will meet once a week with an interdisciplinary team—including social workers, physicians, chaplains, and nurses—at the local program office to provide holistic support.

Beyond holding a current RN license and having at least two years of nursing experience, you will possess a dependable means of transportation. You will bring commitment, compassion, and a can‑do attitude, placing patient welfare at the center of your work and extending comfort and dignity to all people at the end of their life’s journey.
