Job Overview

Registered Nurse for the Mental Health Unit (Open Unit) at Jersey City Medical Center. Work day shift, full-time, 35.3 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

• BSN or active enrollment in a BSN program with expected completion date.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

• BSN or active enrollment in a BSN program with expected completion date.
• 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience.

• Active NJ RN license or Compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS.

• Day shift, 35.3 hours per week.
• Monday–Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation.
• Full-time.

• Provide nursing care in accordance with the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Ensure safety and ethical standards, including evidence-based practice.
• Identify and report safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the patient population served.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient care providers.
• Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to individualize care plans.
