Description
We are hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager for The Rooftop at Exchange Place located high atop the Hyatt House Jersey City. Pay Range: $47,868.75 to $59,835.94. The role involves overseeing the relaunch of our rooftop bar, Terrace restaurant and banquet space, while providing guests with friendly and professional service, excellent food quality, and a premium experience.
Responsibilities- Provide guests and patrons with friendly and professional service, excellent food quality, strong price value, and consistency of execution.
- Ensure meals are delivered in a timely fashion with attention to plating, portion, and temperature.
- Develop ways to improve cost savings and labor retention/associate development to meet the hotel’s F&B financial goals.
- Thoroughly train staff in service sequence and product knowledge and conduct daily line‑ups.
- Lead training programs for servers, busser, host, and bartenders, plus ongoing development seminars.
- Perform daily evaluation of restaurant service performance and conduct employee discussions and evaluations.
- Coordinate timely food production and work with the Chef to maintain excellent quality and presentation of all food.
- Participate in evaluation of food product, kitchen employee performance, and development of products consistent with our market position.
- Select and price all liquors and wines, and supervise procurement.
- Assist the General Manager and/or F&B Director in creating annual financial objectives and budgeting.
- Help meet financial targets in the sales area through marketing plan execution and rapid response to new opportunities.
- Focus on cost of sales and payroll to meet budget in all areas of cost control.
- Supervise all non‑supervisory service employees and carry out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
