Position Overview
Show Fab is seeking organized, skilled, and highly motivated Over hire Set Electricians to support our Electrics team on a project-by-project basis. Over hire team members are brought on during periods of high production volume and have the opportunity to become regular recurring hires based on performance.
This role is ideal for electricians experienced in scenic, theatrical, experiential, broadcast, museum or custom fabrication environments.
Key Responsibilities Electrical & Scenic Integration- Read and interpret electrical schematics and shop drawings accurately
- Over hire Set Electrician
- Execute wiring and installation in compliance with electrical safety standards and applicable codes
- Work confidently with LED tape, LED neon, decoders, power supplies, and various terminations
- Identify, select, and install a wide variety of electrical components
- Operate shop machinery and hand tools, including automated wire cutting, stripping, and crimping machines
- Solder LED tape and perform precise low-voltage electrical work
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test practical lighting elements
- Work closely with other production departments to ensure smooth integration of electrical elements
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace that supports efficient workflow
- Adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and timelines
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in theatrical electrics, fabrication, scenic shop, live events, or themed environments
- Strong understanding of electrical theory and safe working practices
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and remain on your feet throughout the workday
- Experience reading and understanding electronic schematics
- Experience in custom scenic fabrication, museum/exhibit work, themed entertainment, or TV/film production environments
- ETCP, OSHA 10/30, or related safety certifications
- Experience with automation or control systems
- Job Type: Over hire
- Pay: $31.13–$35.40 per hour (union scale)
This is a union position working under the CBA with IATSE Local 21. Applicants are not required to be current union members to apply but will have the ability to work toward membership.

Show Fab operates in a fast-paced industry with hard deadlines and short turnaround times. This is a physically demanding role and the backbone of our Electrics Shop. Overtime and weekend work are frequently offered and often required to meet deadlines.
