THE POSITION
As a Senior Software Engineer within one of Fan Duel’s Risk Management Automation teams, you will be an essential part of a cross‑functional agile team that directly impacts our business.
You will work collaboratively with a team to implement creative, high‑quality solutions, scope effort and timelines, and balance priorities of our stakeholders and engineering needs. Your deliverables will be grounded in testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining the software, ensuring ownership of every part of the delivery lifecycle.
You will work directly with risk managers to improve the major automated risk‑management platforms. You will serve as a domain expert on automated risk implementation and identify opportunities for innovation through technology. In addition to the specific responsibilities, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the company, enabling operational flexibility.

SKILLS- Deep experience with C# and backend systems.
- Experience working directly with stakeholders/end users.
- Write simple, extensible code following standards and best practices.
- Thoroughly test your code.
- Balance customer requirements with team requirements.
- Participate actively in code review, design discussions, planning, and metric/COE reviews.
- Classify, store, and handle data in accordance with Fan Duel policies.
- Track security risks and mitigate or elevate them in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate operational excellence and propose solutions.
- Take on projects that improve team software and processes.
- Root‑cause complex problems and leave software easier to maintain.
- Train new teammates on software construction, operation, security, and fit within the big picture.
- Foster constructive dialogue and professional resolution.
- Recruit and interview for the team.
- Estimate stories/tasks accurately and deliver on time.
- Mentor others.
- On‑call rotation where required; provide excellent customer support.
- Keep learning about market standards and open‑source frameworks.

- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering.
- 5+ years of industry experience in Software Engineering, ML, Data Science, or Financial Engineering.
- Proficient in building services with modern OOP languages; C# is essential.
- Fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Proficient with Git Ops patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (Build Kite, Git Hub Actions).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and technologies.
- Knowledge of AWS (API Gateway, step functions, Lambda, serverless).
- Infrastructure as code familiarity (Terraform, Helm) is a plus.
- Experience designing relational databases.
- Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka).
- Ability to document code, research, and designs clearly (Jira, Confluence).
- Translate requirements into design and application development.
- Understand containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Drive operational excellence and on‑call support.
- Experience with unit testing and integrating testing practices into SDLC.
- Agile environment experience.
- Working in an Agile environment.
