As a Lead Software Engineer – Python at JPMorgan
Chase within the Corporate Sector, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions to address complex business and technical challenges within the storage product domain.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and deliver products that meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Develop secure, high‑quality production code and participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Identify opportunities to automate and remediate recurring issues to improve operational stability and efficiency.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead technical sessions with internal teams and external vendors to assess architectural designs and technical solutions for integration.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and technical excellence.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in software engineering, programming languages, and infrastructure technologies.
- Champion agile methodologies and practices, driving continuous improvement and innovation across the team.
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced knowledge in one or more programming language(s) including Python, Rabbit
MQ, Cockerroach, React, Django, FastAPI, Flask, and AWS. - Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile).
- In‑depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Practical cloud‑native experience.
- Modern emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with infrastructure technologies, storage systems, or related domains.
