Workshop Studio (WS) Overview

Workshop Studio (WS) is an AWS platform that powers hands-on technical learning and product experiences for hundreds of thousands of current and potential AWS customers. WS is transitioning to an AI-native architecture with agentic systems that will discover content, guide participants in real time, automate workshop quality review and generate post-event intelligence.

• Build AI-powered capabilities on Amazon Bedrock Agent Core such as content discovery, adaptive participant guidance, automated session summaries with lead scoring, agent-assisted authoring and simulated participant playthroughs for content validation.
• Design multi-tenant workshop management with per-partner isolation, access controls, and lifecycle tooling; build integration APIs that let high-traffic AWS websites provide sandbox environments on demand.
• Evolve authentication and authorization architecture across multiple identity providers to support partner authentication, scoped permissions for external users, and cross-tenant content sharing.
• Lead design reviews, mentor a team of backend and frontend engineers, and produce architectural documents that shape multi-year decisions; own production health through on-call rotations, incident response, retrospective reviews and runbook maintenance.

On any given day you might lead a cross-team API design review with the product manager, engineering manager, UX designer and engineers from partner AWS teams; pair with engineers on database access patterns for the multi-tenant content store; prototype an AI feature that generates post-event session summaries from platform telemetry; sync with the program manager on cross-team dependencies and align with the engineering manager on sprint priorities.

The work spans platform architecture, agentic AI development, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.

The Workshop Studio team owns one of the largest fleets of AWS accounts in the world. We own React web apps, CDK infrastructure, Go and Python Lambdas, Step Functions workflows, DynamoDB data stores, git repositories for workshop artifacts and an analytics layer built on Redshift. The team includes an engineering manager, product manager, several backend engineers and a front-end engineer, with shared access to a UX designer, technical program managers, business intelligence engineer and senior engineers including a principal engineer.

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference life cycles, and optimization techniques.
