Principal Software Engineer

The qualified candidate will be part of an Agile development team working on a multi-year initiative to build a comprehensive brokerage platform. As the Principal Software Engineer, the candidate is expected to provide leadership and guidance on their cross-functional team. This role will involve analysis, design, planning, coding, and testing not only within the team, but aligned with the overall project direction.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• Hands on experience in Serverless cloud native applications in AWS technology
• Hands on experience in using AWS Lambda Functions with event sourcing from AWS managed services like SNS/SQS/S3/DYNAMO/Event Bridge/Kinesis/AWS Batch
• Experience with Terraform to create application with IAC for both EKS and Serverless applications and managing infrastructure with terraform
• In-depth knowledge of programming language Java and Node Js
• Expert in designing and building REST web services using Java at internet scale
• Experience with databases, Relational (PostgreSQL-AWS Aurora & Oracle) and Non-Relational (DynamoDB)
• Proficient in Datadog to mine and create monitors and metric dashboards
• Good to have experience in Kafka messaging Platform
• Must have the ability to take a concept and turn it into a finished product
• Should be able to learn and adopt to diverse technologies
• Ability to think strategically. Strong problem-solving skills

• Ensures code reviews, unit testing and integration testing is completed efficiently and effectively
• Help coordinate the delivery of technical components across internal/external technical teams.
• Experience using jUnit, Cucumber or any other Automated Test Framework
• Incorporate and streamline test automation into build CI/CD pipelines and quality gates

The candidate will be expected to provide tactical solutions as well as strategic vision embracing leading-edge technologies and methods. In addition, this role will require the ability to work with senior-level business partners to understand requirements and propose appropriate solutions, and to work with architecture and infrastructure teams to articulate capability requirements.
