Technical Workday Architect

This role combines deep functional knowledge with hands‑on technical capability to design scalable, compliant, and efficient enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct impact assessments for releases, enhancements, and regulatory changes.

  • Follow SDLC framework for enhancements and projects.
  • Design, develop, and support inbound/outbound integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, core connectors, REST/SOAP APIs, BIRT reporting, XML, and XSLT transformations.
  • Lead integration lifecycle management: requirements → mapping → build → test → deploy → post‑production support.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures and optimize performance.
  • Oversee vendor integrations (e.g., payroll providers, benefits vendors, Service Now, background check vendors).
  • Implement secure authentication protocols (SFTP, OAuth, certificates, API security).
  • Lead cross‑functional workshops and discovery sessions.
  • Translate BRDs into user stories and technical design documentation.
  • Provide executive‑level updates on roadmap, risk, and integration stability.
  • Mentor junior analysts/integration developers.
  • Drive release management strategy and regression testing coordination.
  • Maintain detailed documentation related to project work, HR system frameworks, and process guides.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Workday experience in HCM integrations (Studio, EIB, APIs).
  • Experience supporting or leading full lifecycle Workday implementations or major tenant refreshes.
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance‑driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices.
