Position: Logistics and Warehouse Manager - Food Retail
Location: New Jersey / New York
A rapidly growing, specialized specialty food retailer is expanding is seeking a hands‑on Logistics & Warehouse Manager to lead its regional storage / product movement operations.
The Manager will oversee all warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and cross‑functional product logistics.
This role is responsible for managing all inbound and outbound inventory, maintaining peak inventory accuracy, supervising warehouse staff, and ensuring safe, efficient daily facility operations.
The individual will also work closely with regional Operations and Finance leadership to directly support inventory planning, product availability, cost control, and overall operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Warehouse Operations: Manage day‑to‑day warehouse activities, optimize processes, establish daily team priorities, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee routine cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and monitor inventory turnover to identify slow‑moving stock.
- Inbound Logistics & Receiving: Coordinate incoming shipments from suppliers, verify quantity and product quality, and ensure timely entry into the inventory management system.
- Outbound Logistics & Shipping: Oversee order fulfillment and timely shipments to retail stores and customers, while coordinating transportation schedules to optimize shipping costs.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, coach, and schedule a core team of 5–6 warehouse employees while promoting safety, accountability, and productivity.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner directly with Operations and Finance teams to improve company‑wide inventory accuracy, maximize availability, and reduce shrinkage or waste.
- Core
Experience:
5+ years of dedicated experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory management, or supply chain operations. - Leadership Track Record: 2+ years of direct supervisory experience managing, training, and developing warehouse personnel.
- Inventory & Shipping Expertise: Strong background in comprehensive inventory control procedures, alongside hands‑on experience managing both shipping and receiving operations.
- Technical
Skills:
High proficiency utilizing ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory tracking platforms, and Microsoft Excel. - Preferred Industry Background: Experience in food, snack, retail, consumer goods, or distribution environments, particularly managing inventory with strict shelf‑life or expiration considerations.
